Building a Career from Home

It is interesting to hear a statement delivered in one of Oprah Winfrey’s talk shownya first. He did not distinguish her profession as “working mother” and “housewife” but he distinguishes as “mothers who work outside the home” with “mothers who work at home”. He said a woman called “housewife” rather than women who do not have a job. They are the women who underwent the option to work at home. Parenting, cooking, washing clothes, cleaning the house, all of it is also an important work. Oprah, as a successful career woman, also expresses appreciation to mothers who work at home by stating that it is often mothers who work at home has a heavier workload than mothers who work outside the home. Even they do not have a definite break in the day and must always be alert to work 24 hours at home.

I found myself nodding vigorously when he heard the Oprah statement. I just realized the weight to be a mother who worked at home when I had nearly a month of my choice to undergo this. Options that I took after going through the various considerations as I have written here

In addition to child care at home, cooking, and cleaning the house, I actually did some work at home. I started sending my writings to various print media. I also just got a new responsibility for managing an educational newsletter for teachers in an institution. In addition, I also began to build a network of community social services for women through the internet. I was so excited about starting these jobs because the world of writing, education, and also women’s ministry is my passion. I’ve imagined how wonderful my life could take care of children at home while doing those jobs.

Beautiful shadow seemed to be blurred collide with reality. My son is 17 months old are in a period very actively. He should be frequently monitored carefully before doing many things that can harm him. In addition, he usually also have a great interest to help me when she saw I was typing on a laptop. In the spirit of play he will join her tiny fingers on the laptop keyboard, creating some chaos that is enough to make me hysterical. So, I could not touch the laptop when he was still awake.

The quietest time for me to write when my son was sleeping. Not nap time but when she sleeps at night. When he naps often I use to clean house or cook. When he sleeps at night sometimes I even dragged down with him for the adventure to the land of dreams. That means a day elapsed without a single word I typed in the document. Apparently it’s not easy to build a career from home. Time and concentration must be divided by several things.

“CAREER BUILDING” VERSUS “CAREER WAITING”: CHOOSE YOUR CAREER FOR LIFE

A few days ago I asked a friend who had just finished his education in college.

“Have a list anywhere?.” I asked

“Many, one of them in large companies.” He said casually as he was busy playing a few mouse clicks on one job site in ECC UGM.

“Not try to open my own business, rather than science has had plenty of capital, why not be used, who knows could create new jobs.” I asked again.

He is still busy with the affairs click clicking web page which he obtained only from the type in the word magic “jobs” at a site search engine which is again excited because almost alone in the acquisition by the owner of a site-email famous email.

“Do not have capital, anyways better job, better future, also be able to continue to pay every month, constant, and which must have a mature career.” He explains the concepts that he hold about how a career.

I just nodded yes to her, in my heart, I admit that what he was talking about just having a lot of truth and also have a lot of mistakes or rather one of perception in some parts.

A few more people whom I asked about this “career” in the future they feel that “work is a career, and career is to work”, “career was a prestige, you try to imagine being a head of department quality control, whereas ten years ago you an ordinary employee, “” career is a remarkable achievement, once you are a runner, now you are told “,” doing the work if his career just is not clear “. I was just stunned to hear all the endless arguments about the career. I admit that I was one person who had been in the world menagerie career, even to this day, job applications, curriculum vitae, diploma still adorn my days, but now I was not too enthusiastic about such careers, I just want to be able to work for a while to find the capital and experience and then try to build my own career.

One of the keys to successful build a career is to always develop the knowledge and skills related to our chosen profession.

However, one thing is worth underscoring, is to understand the importance of developing personal potential, and not satisfied with the quality we have. Because, professional development will enhance a career, so it is not fixated only on the same work continues.

Professional education can be an alternative builder quality. Although often very difficult to put it into our schedule is already crowded lives.

Our schedule includes work responsibilities and obligations towards the family, this makes it increasingly difficult to find time to insert a class into the work schedule of professional education. Especially for those who have difficult to ascertain the working hours or longer.

However, there are some things that can be taken into consideration, given the benefits that may be obtained, that the classes can connect our industry with other professional colleagues, making it easier to find new business partners.

Making these classes have an advantage for our needs, not merely incorporate new science, mainly offer the flexibility for smooth business by utilizing a co-worker friends, especially the working relationship does not become monotonous.

Tips to build a career as a professional and independent consultant

This paper has actually been a long time I wanted to pour, but the moment I still have not found ide2 and inspiration.

This paper is the basic idea is number of comments, email and CV submissions from readers of the blog and in essence, a job request information regarding post-completion of the project consultant who attended.

Despite the fact that at the beginning of this blog aimed to share information about the world of Project Management and Procurement Management (then called ThomasPM), but it turns out informasi2 job I upload my posting2 disela2 vacuum rekan2 attract more readers.

Need I reiterate that so far I have not been interested to make my blog as a blog job info, if there INFO2 job, I include the extent related to the field of project management and procurement.

I understand how difficult finding a job in this era, with abundant new lulusan2 ruahnya graduate each year. But I am also so sad to see the reality rekan2 consultant is still difficult to get a job. Though the quality of self, a consultant whose name was of course regarded as “superior” than the regular workforce, therefore it is the client willing to “pay dearly” consultant. If not more than clientnya, then why would a client hire a consultant susah2?

Therefore in my opinion, the main base that must be owned by a consultant for a career in consulting is the readiness of himself as a consultant as a way of life choices. Without it, it will usually be easy terseok2 and wander blindly on in the world of work. If not ready to be a consultant, become a better employee or self-employed businessman is good.

4 Tips Build a Brilliant Career

Always take advantage of opportunities that exist in the work, is one way to support your career. However, you need more tricks to make your career skyrocketed.

Here are five tricks you can do to build a brilliant career, reported by Marie Claire.
1. Learning to be a leader
Consistently, take advantage of every opportunity to be a leader and learn to be a good leader. If you are considered able, will open up career opportunities and better promotion.

Bob Calandra, coauthor of “How to Keep Your Job in a Tough Competitive Market ‘, states need not seek promotions at work, but know the ins and outs of the job so that when the opportunity came, you are ready to accept it.

2. Salary negotiable according to competence
When negotiating a salary, provide an appropriate supply capabilities, do not ask the wages are too low. It will make you look to sell yourself. And, you’ll be hard to get a raise as desired.
When first applying for a job, it may be difficult to assess yourself with some money, instead it could backfire for you. Confident and try to prove yourself the quality of the interview and tawarlah salary you want.

3. Switch to emerging industries
Do not be trapped on the work that’s been years but you do not give maximum results in your career. If the field work in which you worked just give a little room to grow, move on to another field that allows you to grow both in quality career, as well as in terms of revenue. Therefore, it is very important for you to always learn and polish the quality of your self.

4. Be honest about career goals
Be honest with yourself and take time to assess what your life purpose. If you have a career in a company but you still feel dissatisfied with your job, it may be entrepreneurs is the right answer for you

Always focus on pursuing opportunities vs. project

Most people have heard jokes about people trapped in floods. The water kept rising and rising, soon he was on the roof watching the water get closer and closer to its perch. He prayed that God would intervene and save him from what looked like a sure drowning.

After a while some people in a rescue boat stopped and called him, told him to jump up. The man called back that his faith in God and that he would wait for God to save him. They pleaded with him to get close to them because he would surely die if she had stayed even though the water rose, but the man remained strong beliefs.

A few moments later, with the water even closer to where he sat, another rescue boat back by. Once again they pleaded with him but once again, he stayed and kept his faith that God will save him. The boat pulled away and left him on the rooftops of an increasingly narrow.

When he looked into the large expanse of water that surrounds it, he heard a helicopter approaching from a distance outside. When the helicopter arrived, he stood just above the roof of the men and let down the basket for a man to rise to, of course, with water lapping at his feet, he will change his mind and allowed himself to be saved. The man waved off the helicopter, shouting out the intention to wait for God to save him, that he had the right faith and that he believes he will be safe.

As soon as the helicopter flew, the water rises very fast, great and terrible hit him from the roof and he drowned. When he to heaven he asked God why He let it perish. He told the Lord about how strong his faith and how he prayed repeatedly for God to save him.

God gently and lovingly smiled at him and said, “My son, I sent you two boats and a helicopter, what else do you expect me to do?”

When you compared your research with your offer, you were either under market, over market, or right in the range. If your salary research indicates that the offer is below the range for your specific job and responsibilities, now is the time to share your research with the employer and discuss how the employer arrived at his/her estimates. Often you will find some points of disagreement on which to negotiate an increase.

Keep in mind that the employer will likely view compensation data differently than the employee. Two common points the employer may wish to discuss are the sources used to obtain the data in the report, and whether the data in the report matches your job profile, the company profile, and job location.

Finally, when a company wants to buy your time and effort, remember it’s a human being who makes the decision. It isn’t a cut and dried assessment; it’s a rational-emotive process that takes into account many factors that aren’t always fair or logical. Your awareness of these factors can greatly improve your chances for improving your salary.

Finally, you receive a salary that you can live with and is fair. Do you sign it then? Well, yes and no. Yes, you now have a firm base to agree to, that you know you will be happy with. But, don’t stop! It is now time to put your attention on the other factors of the salary-equation gold mine.

When they’re ready to make an offer, here’s a second piece of timing advice: don’t haul out your research too soon! When it comes to discussing your starting salary, let the employer go first. That way you have a firm starting point that you can be assured of, when it is your turn. Generally, you’ll want to bump the starting salary up 5-10% or more. But, in the worst case scenario, if they go first, you certainly won’t get less than their initial offer. Additionally, there is always the chance that they will exceed the starting salary figure you were planning to mention.

NOW do you show your salary research? NO…. Not yet.

Once they go first, you respond by repeating their starting salary offer and remaining silent. If they have given you a low-ball offer, and they know it, now is the time for them to increase their offer. Okay, I’ve heard the offer, I’ve greeted it with silence, now do I get to use my salary report?

Maybe…

If you are reading this article, you have probably done some research about what your salary should be. If you haven’t or want more accurate and reliable salary information, complete our brief salary survey to determine what the average salary and salary range is for your new position.

Now that you have the salary information necessary for negotiating, I want you to learn the value of having PayScale salary report in hand. The best way to leverage a PayScale salary report for a successful negotiation is to set your own expectations about how you will use your report. Know what information your report contains, and especially know what the data represents – what is behind the numbers – before taking it to the boss or a potential employer.
